Crescent City Cooks! | Cooking Class
Crescent City Cooks!, a New Orleans style cooking school, is located in the Riverwalk Marketplace. Creative Cajun and Creole Cooking classes are taught with a New Orleans flair. Floor to ceiling glass offers a rare view of the Mississippi River and the Crescent City Connection. This gives a visual taste of the Big Easy while the novice or seasoned cook learns the how and why of traditional New Orleans cuisine. Dishes are prepared in class and served complimentary to all students.
Nita Duhé and Shelley Ross are natives of the Greater New Orleans area who have opened Crescent City Cooks! to teach visitors how to cook as the locals do. Tourists can learn to prepare traditional Creole and Cajun dishes. Classes are offered daily with varying menus. Demonstrations include cultural background and family tradition that have contributed to these recipes being passed on from generation to generation.
