Mid-Day Lake Mead Sightseeing Cruise - NPS FEE Req'd*

(PLEASE NOTE: Transportation from Las Vegas to the Lake Mead Cruises landing is NOT included in this offer.)

AHOY THERE!

When you arrive at Lake Mead Cruises’ Landing, home port to the “Desert Princess”; meet the honorary greeting committee of huge fish and colorful ducks.  Smile for the Friendly Camera Crew as you board the Mississippi River Style Paddlewheeler.  The Snack Bar and Full Service Beverage Bar, always open and available for cash, are on the enclosed, climate controlled Second Deck, with excellent viewing from there or the enclosed Main Deck.  The Promenade/Top Deck is open for unobstructed sightseeing.

Lake Mead is 110 miles long, but keep in mind the "Desert Princess" has a top end speed of only about 7 miles an hour.  What you see here is very different from lakes in other parts of the country; there are no trees along the shore; we are high desert with a beautiful background of mountains and lots of desert vegetation; often we see desert sheep going up what appear to be sheer cliffs - their hooves have a velcro like substance that helps them cling.  Hoover Dam is another highlight; really magnificent at any time of day.  The spectacular Mike O’Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge, edging toward completion is a bonus!  The mountains vary in color from granite to flaming red, and every hour of the day they look different.  It is very beautiful here, and we never tire of just looking out over the lake for a brief respite from reality.  There is also an extinct volcano with a flat top called Fortification Mountain.  There is a lot to look at and enjoy while you peacefully cruise for approximately 90 minutes over the sparkling waters of Lake Mead with no stops!

Lake Mead Cruises’ Mid-day Sightseeing cruises are fully narrated, and the Friendly Captain welcomes passengers to the pilot house for outstanding photo opportunities and even a chance to drive the boat!  Upon return to port, your boarding photos are ready and available for optional purchase.

The Las Vegas Power Pass includes free admission to the Mid-Day Sightseeing Cruise from Lake Mead Cruises.

Advance reservations recommended. Plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to scheduled cruise departure to ensure seating. Seats are not guaranteed.
