It was two Creole sisters and the notions shop they owned here that gave The Court of Two Sisters its name. Before then, the 600 block of Rue Royale, also known as “Governors’ Row,” shaped the history of the French Quarter and old New Orleans as it was home to five governors, three Supreme Court Justices, and a future United States president.
