Through the Secret Garden, Siegfried & Roy seek to renew the public’s sense of responsibility to preserve nature. The Dolphin Habitat at the Mirage is home to a family of Atlantic bottlenose dolphins and is the culmination of a dream to develop a tropical oasis in the desert for one of the world’s most graceful animals. The purpose and intent of The Mirage dolphin facility is twofold: to provide a healthy and nurturing environment for dolphins and to increase public awareness of the importance of protecting and conserving marine mammals and their environments. Specialists from around the world were asked to lend their expertise and ideas in order to create a safe, healthy and state-of-the-art facility. The size of the pools exceeds government regulations by more than eight times.
