Senator Fong's Gardens
You don’t want to miss this breathtaking 360 degree view from Oahu’s Ko’olau Mountains to the sea on this 725-acre botanical garden. An easy guided one or two mile nature walk takes you through valleys and plateaus of fruit orchards, palm gardens, lily ponds, and tropical flowers and under canopies of Hawaii’s ornamental trees. Senator Fong divided the Plantation into five areas, each named after a president that he served under during his 17 years in the U.S. Senate. Purchased by Senator Fong in 1950, the landscape is the same as early Polynesians saw hundreds of years ago, with forests of kukui, hala, koa, and ohia-'ai, ti and pili grass.
